After three or four sessions with Richard, I learned how to feel my feelings. I used to push them away instead of feeling them.
One day when a friend called me and said something so hurtful to me, I didn't know what to do. Then I remembered what Richard had suggested during a session, that it was okay to feel my feelings.
At that moment I was so sad and had so much pain, I went to my room, closed the door, and began to cry. My Mom knocked on the door and asked if I needed to talk and I replied "No, I just need to be alone and feel.” I stayed in my room for 40 minutes. When I came out, I felt really good that I had let out all the sadness and pain.
Richard taught me how to accept my feelings by feeling them.
